Reiki

Why Reiki training

I had my first Reiki session in 2010. All I knew was that it was "energy healing" not that I had any idea what that entailed. But I felt incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated after the session.

Over the years, I've always gone back for Reiki when I felt burned out or super off.

I was first introduced to my teacher, Dani (https://www.instagram.com/daniheals/ and https://www.daniheals.com/) in 2020. She was offering distance Reiki, something I didn't even know was possible. It is, and I felt the same effects as I had doing in-person Reiki.

This was also around the time when I first started to spiritually awaken. If you've been through that, you know what a mind-f*ck it can be.

I was also becoming very aware that I was an empath. So when Dani told me she was offering training, and one of the things that would be covered was energetic boundaries, I was IN.

Until I wasn't. The timing wasn't quite right. But this year? The timing WAS right.

What is Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing*.

It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Some of the potential benefits of Reiki include:

- Reducing stress and promoting relaxation

- Easing physical pain and discomfort

- Improving sleep quality

- Reducing anxiety and depression symptoms

- Enhancing mental clarity and focus

- Facilitating spiritual growth and personal transformation

- Supporting emotional healing and balance

- Promoting overall well-being and a sense of inner peace.

It’s important to note that Reiki is not intended to replace medical treatment or therapy, but it can be used as a complementary therapy to support a person’s overall healing process. It’s always recommended to seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new treatment or therapy.

What does this mean for me + my business

Great question, glad you asked 😉

Long-term, I don't know. Truly. And for once, I'm trying to operate more in the present moment than (over)thinking about the future.

Short-term, there are a few changes happening:

  1. I'm offering beta Reiki sessions. These sessions are slightly shorter than a typical 60 minute session, and meant to give me the opportunity to explore if/how I like offering Reiki as service. You can read more details about this in the FAQs here, or book a session here.

  2. I'm sunsetting (such a corporate term ) my current business. My 4th anniversary is in a couple of weeks, and I have learned so much!! But energetically, it's time to take a pause and then start fresh. That said, I'm here for 1:1 coaching and other things you may need. I'm just not actively promoting, marketing, or updating my website lol. You are welcome to reach out to me at any time to talk about working together!

As for my blogs, they'll still be coming. I just can't tell you what they'll be about. I've found that the way I'm consistent with these, is to write about what's inspiring me in the moment. There's a lot of healing and shifting that starts when you go through a Reiki training. I suspect I may be talking about some of that. If that's not what you're interested in, and you want to unsubscribe, I get it.

So there you have it. Lots of subtle stuff that's actually hugely impactful. Yet, it doesn't feel that way, which I suspect is an indication of alignment.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
