The times, they are a-changing
Did you ever see the 1991 movie, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead? There’s a line during the fashion show where Christine Applegate says “The times, they are a-changing” - at least that’s what my brain remembers. Google and Giphy will not confirm that no matter how much I search.
Translation: that’s what this post is about. I’ve making some small changes that will have major impact in my business, and it’s important to me to share those because I don’t want this to feel sudden or like a bait and switch.
Let me make one thing very clear: this isn’t a massive pivot.
It’s a refinement and a focus of my audience. Which means the biggest impact will probably be that my content is either about to really resonate with you…or be completely off.
And I’m okay with that. I expect unsubscribes to my emails, a change in follower counts. Which has my nervous system a little freaked out, BUT I know it’s the right decision for me. It’s also made so many things in my business ridiculously easy since I made this decision.
What’s changing
My focus moving forward will be on women solopreneurs who are also dealing with some sort of ‘capacity constraint’ like brain fog, chronic fatigue, and/or chronic pain. Running a business when you’re also dealing with these kinds of constraints is a whole different ball game. No matter how much we might wish it wasn’t.
How much I wish it wasn’t. Because she 👆 is me.
I deal with a lot of ‘invisible’ chronic illnesses and conditions, and that was before peri hormones 🎶 came in like a wrecking ball 🎶 #iykyk

You’re the first to hear about this, so these are the ones I suspect are the most pressing 😉
What if I don’t have any of those? Can I still work with you? Yup. I’ve never needed someone to fit in a specific ‘box’ to work with me. The reason I’m sharing this is as an fyi for times when my content and copy speaks to these changes.
Why those specific constraints? I’ve actually been thinking about the best way to describe who this audience is for a long time. A prior version of this was “𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘵, 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥/𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴.” I also thought about autoimmune, mental health like anxiety or depression, migraines, etc. I settled on these three because 1) I’m running my own business dealing with all of them and 2) as ‘symptoms’ they’re specific enough for someone to identify with them while also covering a wide range of underlying conditions.
Why now? Is there a reason for the timing? Yes and no. I’ve been considering this since September. A few weeks ago, I applied to be in a guide that will be coming out in May that’s specifically for entrepreneurs who have capacity constraints. When I saw the opportunity, my whole being lit up - which is pretty much a Generator’s sign of alignment. It was the easiest collaboration to apply for - I didn’t need any AI help thinking through my answers lol. The resource I’m offering is something I’ve created for myself. It was so simple and easy, it became obvious this was a good move for me.
There will be much more to come…soon. I’m slowly, but surely, making the changes to my website, IG, etc.
And if this is the time for us to part ways, that is a-ok. Truly. You’re welcome back any time!
